In this course attorneys will learn how experts formulate their opinions and how an expert’s bias affects their decisions and opinions. In this course Certified Document Examiner Mike Wakshull defines both bias and cognitive bias, describes how biases occur, presents examples of biases, and shows methods for overcoming bias. As Mr. Wakshull points out, new research shows that common biases can be exploited to obtain compliance to ideas and recognition of attribution errors is important to ensure effects are not assigned based on bias. Michael N. Wakshull has been involved in the Forensic Document Examination arena since 1983. He is currently is the President and Sr. Consultant of Q9 Consulting where he concentrates on Forensic document examination as well as Management consulting and training focused on risk based quality implementation of products, processes, and projects in biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
