Eric Hanscom of InterContinental IP discusses many aspects of patent law that attorneys must know, from when to use a provisional patent to design and utility patents. Prior to going into private practice Mr. Hanscom held a number of positions with various companies – giving him unique insights not only into the legal aspects of IP but also the practical use and capitalization upon patent and trademark rights. He has been actively involved in overseeing litigation, contract negotiation and customs issues in the US, Asia, Europe, South American and Australia over matters ranging from patent and trademark infringement to breach of contract.
