Laura Akers is a highly respected trial attorney, accomplished in both felony and misdemeanor jury trial work. After graduation from law school and admission to the bar, Ms. Akers was hired as a Deputy District Attorney for San Diego County. For 12 years, she handled gang, rape, domestic violence and high profile homicide trials, gaining invaluable time trying cases before juries. She trained law enforcement in Domestic Violence procedures and was consultant to the Attorney General of the State of Georgia on domestic violence issues. One of Ms. Akers' rape prosecutions established new California Supreme Court law.
