Elsa Ramo is an entertainment attorney, representing many production clients as well as individual financiers and producers in the entertainment industry. Elsa graduated from University of San Diego School of Law, and began her career at Davis Dixon Kirby LLP as an associate establishing their Los Angeles Office. She founded her own firm when she was approached by several clients to handle their independent productions in 2005 at the Universal Studios backlot and her firm is now located in Beverly Hills.
The focus of her practice is to be a legal resource to film financiers, producers and other creative individuals in the film, music and television industries. Her law firm has four full time attorneys, a packaging and sales executive and a full staff who have provided production legal services (including production, film finance and distribution) to over 40 television, feature film, short film and documentary productions each year. Elsa Ramo has produced GHOST GAME and CULT (Taryn Manning); was an associate producer for THE LAST SENTINEL; and co-produced A WOMAN CALLED JOB (Adam Garcia), IN NORTHWOOD (Nick Stahl and Olivia Wilde), and HECKLER (Jamie Kennedy). Outside of membership in four Bar Associations (California, American, Beverly Hills, & Los Angeles), Elsa is also a member of Film Independent, Women in Film, California Lawyers for the Arts and is the founder of PEFA (a professional organization for female attorneys in the entertainment industry). She has also been a panel speaker at: Boston University School of Law, the San Diego Film Festival, University of California at Los Angeles, University of San Diego Law School, and the University of Southern California.
Additionally, she has lectured on film financing for the California Lawyers for the Arts, Film Independent and the Institute for International Film Financing. In May 2010, she was awarded an Artistic License Award by California Lawyers for the Arts for her outstanding pro-bono work providing artists and arts organizations with legal services.
